EVERTON FC'S LEON OSMAN DOES AN IAN POULTER!

Mark Manley has been appointed Chairman of Leon Osman’s Testimonial Committee.

The Everton player has been awarded a testimonial for his long service to the Club and is one of an increasingly rare group of one-club players. The Testimonial Year kicked off with a Charity Golf Day at Formby Hall Golf Club where Leon was seen to be adopting the Ian Poulter approach to golf attire! Palliative care charities Claire House and Make A Wish will be the beneficiaries of the event.

The weather was kind and the entire Everton squad and manager Roberto Martinez attended the event which saw Everton players Phil Jagielka, and Tony Hibbert and legend Duncan Ferguson pick up prizes. Leighton Baines and Tim Howard were game. As neither are golfers, they agreed to man the food buggy around the course. Whilst some players go into punditry and management, both looked very at home in their new role.

Further information about the Testimonial match, including opponents and date, as well as dates for the Testimonial Dinners in Liverpool and London are yet to be announced. Mark said: “I am honoured to be selected to Chair Leon’s Testimonial Committee. He has been, and remains an incredible servant to Everton FC and the turnout from the Players, Manager and Club speak volumes for his popularity. I’m sure his Year will be a huge success and his selected charities have already expressed their appreciation.”
