Last week, Manleys Solicitors celebrated its 10-year anniversary…a year late!
Manleys Solicitors, a nationally recognised boutique litigation firm based in Chester, was founded acclaimed media lawyer Mark Manley in 2012. Manley, formerly a partner with Brabners in Liverpool and with many years experience in a wide array of litigation matters chose to set up the firm as a new challenge.
Manleys officially opened its doors on 1 May 2012 from its previous offices on St John Street in Chester, celebrating with a launch party held at the Hilton Double Tree attended by clients such as comedians Ricky Tomlinson, Stan Boardman and former footballer now Sky TV pundit Jamie Carragher.
In the last 10+years Manleys has grown from strength to strength, with a client base resembling a list from Who’s Who! The firm has gained recognition in national and local media as well as the usual legal directories. This included being shortlisted for the Lawyer Awards UK Boutique Law Firm of the year. In 2017, having outgrown its former office, Manley acquired substantial commercial property over three floors in the prestigious Grosvenor Court and the firm moved in just before Christmas that year.
Last year the firm experienced yet another incredibly busy year, which included representing clients at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Switzerland, the High Court of England and Wales and the United States District Court in New York. But the demands of the busy year caused the 10-year milestone to be passed without celebration. As a result, the firm’s Chief Operations Officer, Rebekah Booth, thought it would be apt to host a surprise 10+1 dinner to finally celebrate the resounding success over the previous 11 years.
Commenting on a successful decade, Mark said:
“It was great to take a step back last week to reflect on the last 10 years and the firm’s achievements during that period. I am proud of what we have built and how the firm continues to excel across its primary litigation, media and sports areas. My aim when founding the firm was to build a results focussed practice and I believe we have done just that, obtaining countless memorable wins for clients over the years in courts at every level in the UK and now in other jurisdictions. Clients include members of the Royal family, governments, political parties, many NHS Trusts, football clubs, players, agents from home and abroad, and celebrities from entertainment including many household names. But the firm is also proud to represent several PLCs as well as significant corporates.
With the firm now heading into 12th year of trading, the plan remains the same as it was on the first day of trading; to obtain outstanding results for their clients.
